Proper use of the potty

We r saying the name potty a lot in reference to the place we go potty. Tonight he wanted he to open the potty, so I did and read him a potty story. He then proceeded to place all his nativity and drummer boy men on the seat, with none falling in!! So at least we r getting some use out of it. #

quilt

I was inspired by what my sister was doing in PNG making a quilt. So I thought well if she can do it in PNG why can't I make one here. So since we recently got a king size bed (so the animals could have more room to stretch their paws) I decided to make a quilt for the comforter. If I had talked to a quilter they would have probably said I was crazy, so I didn't talk to anyone. I have finished the top which u see above in the picture. I now have to piece together the back, add the batting, sandwich it all together, then attach some binding. I am excited but nervous about the next steps. The goal is to get it done before the baby gets here, but that is 3 months time so I hope to be done long before that!!

Luke and Elmo

Luke has a new friend, Elmo. He at one point was a talking Elmo, but has since stopped talking and he just hangs out. Last night Luke decided to give Luke a horsey ride on his horse. He later put him to bed on the dog's bed and covered him with his toy train carpet as a blanket. I asked him to give Elmo a book to read and he proceeded to dump the whole basket of books on Elmo. Today we gave Elmo another horsey ride and then put him to bed in Mom and Dad's bed along with Luke taking a little fake snooze. Hopefully he is just as helpful with his new brother!!

Luke is talking

Luke has become a talker in the last 2 weeks or so. He used to say a few words, but not tons. All of a sudden he is talking over night repeating everything you said and even saying new words. He is finally saying one of the dogs names.

Pete=Peanut
bow wow=Shadow

He is big into his body parts and we often have to point out NOSE, EYES, and EARS on everyone or every beast, or every stuffed animal we see. We also say NOSE, Eyes, and Ears a lot. He wakes up in the Morning and says MAMA, sometimes it is Dada, but mostly Mama, followed shortly by Milk.

We are practicing our manners with Please and Thank-you. Thank-you is often repeated for Welcome. We are very good at our Hi and Bye as well.

We had to go back to our builder yesterday and pick out new siding. As the old company went out of business. We had picked out a color called Camel before. Well Luke went right in and picked out a blue piece of siding and carried it around with him the whole time we were there saying "blue" over and over again. Unfortunately, Dad is color blinded and didn't like his blue choice, but Mom was pushing for it.

He always wants some type of snack-normally his goldfish or his cookies. He does the opening and closing of his mouth for a fish and says cookie.

He is still into his space men and space shuttle. His next favorite thing is currently his little people garage where he can send cars down the twirly car ramp or up the elevator. We have plenty of cars to keep him occupied.

We keep asking Luke for suggestinos for his baby brother-the only names he knows are Bob (from Bob the builder), Jack (from Jack's Big Music Show), and Josh (we seem to know a lot of people named Josh and he has picked that one up). Unfortunately, we are thrilled on these names as they are very popular so we are still waiting on a name for the new little Nash.

Luke can say his name, it normally comes out "uke" but we understand what he is saying. He also has Ant E down very well (for Aunt Erin). When we talk to her on the computer or see a picture he always says "Ant E". He learned Mimi, and Grandma and Grandpa in Kansas and sometimes says them when we look at pictures as well.

That is all about Luke's word at the moment, we will continue to keep you updated onto his progresss.

The Daily Show comes to Bradford, Pennsylvania

For those of you familiar with the Daily Show on Comedy Central, the show does regular spoofs of small towns around the US. The show goes to the town and pretends to be a legitimate news agency, but is really only there to poke fun at the town and the people there. It is pretty funny. Well, years ago the show came to our hometown of Bradford, Pennsylvania. I never saw the clip of the show, but it was recently made available online. To my horror, the first person the reporter interviews is my unsuspecting great aunt Mary. I kid you not.

Big Snow Storm

We are getting hit with our first big snow storm of the year. It is rather odd that we haven't had more snow as of yet, but this is our first 6+ inches. We should have many more of these before spring arrives in April. Since moving from Texas, Peanut has had to figure out how to navigate through the snow. Her legs are about 3 inches long, so she does the best that she can.

Luke was outside for about 5 minutes and he got cold.

National NASA Day

For those of you who don't know, yesterday was National NASA day. Well not really, if you look online you won't find it anywhere, but in PNG, or at least in Erin's house, they celebrate National NASA day on January 7th of every year. Luke was the wonderful recipient of a blow up space shuttle. After borrowing an air compressor from a friend, we were able to get the shuttle blown up today. At first Luke was very scared, but after a little coaxing, he enjoyed sitting on it and we did the countdown...5...4...3...2...1 then the shuttle would go forward and backwards and up and down and Luke would end up falling off and laughing. Luke will enjoy his shuttle a lot I am sure, we just need to find a place for it admist all the other toys in the house. I hope everyone enjoyed their NASA day!!! Thanks Ant E for a great present!!!

Airport fun

We r stranded in the cleveland airport for 3 hrs. We didn't pay attention to the layover time when we booked the flight. So we have 3 hrs to kill. After walking around for 20 mins looking for an outlet to plug the dvd player into to charge, we stumbled upon kids playland. Complete with an allligator teeter tooter and a castle and slide. We highly recommend it to those visiting the great city of cleveland. It is located between gates C3 and C4 #

On our way home.

Trains

We are in kansas city and went and saw a model train display. Luke was amazed at all the "too toos" as he calls them. Happy New Year. #
