Disappearing Act

Luke received this wonderful ball pit for Christmas. On Monday when I returned home from work I asked luke where all the balls went and he pointed towards the TV. I didn't think much of it and thought he threw the balls behind the TV. I didn't look. On Tuesday I was searching hard for the DVD remote as we had just received shots and needed a relaxing time. I couldn't find it and again noticed the balls were gone but this time realized they weren't behind the TV. So I asked Luke again where they were and he point towards the speaker on the L. So I stuck my hand in the little hole and found the remote and proceeded to pull out all you see in the picture (minus the presents). Yes there were those 20 balls and 2 pacificiers and the remote and the bob the builder phone, he said Luke and Jeffery-so I am assuming that Luke and Jeffery (the babysitter's son) had fun putting everything in the speaker!!!

Christmas take 2

Yesterday we traveled to Johnsonburg to visit my family. The whole gang was there, well almost all of them. We had a great time visiting and eating. Luke was enjoying watching the big boys play ping pong and running around the table and found his head in line with a paddle, but that owie ddn't last too long. We got to talk to Erin on Skype for a good hour, which was amazing. Graham was a hit and everyone didn't think he was too big! Which was a shock to his parents. Today is our 7 year anniversary and we are going out to dinner and a movie!!!

Graham can feed himself!

Now...if we can only get him to change his diapers.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you all!!! We had a good day and presents throughout the whole day. Someone might say, oh you buoght them to much! No that isn't the case. Santa brought each child 3 presents, as that is how many Jesus got for his birthday, Aunt E got each boy 2 presents, and there were 2 other presents for each child plus a stocking. So that isn't that many. Luke however started by opening up the backpack from Aunt E and then wanted to watch a Dvd that was in it. So we did that and ate breakfast. After breakfast he wanted to go and play in the baseump (yes his word for basement) where there was a John Deere Power Wheels Gator from Mimi that occupied a good hour or 2 or crashing into many things in the baseump. Then we returned upstairs and read some of the books in the backpack from Aunt E and then had a melt down and went to sleep. Graham was content to play with paper. He is cutting his second tooth and is not happy about it so he was up 4 times last night saying hi to his lovely parents!! Graham received a robot from his Aunt, which Luke enjoyed, and a stuffed Moose, which the dogs enjoyed. We got to play with Graham and open a few of his toys with him alone when luke was napping and found a gumball machine with little balls and a new rattle that he loved from Santa. After naptime, we opened up a Gator golf and his Monkey playdoh game which then we had to play with for a long while and then it was dinner time. We then went back in the baseump and then went to our neighbors house for an hour. When we returned, Luke said he didn't want to open up anymore presents and Joe opened them for him and showed him what he got and he was excited and then watched a show, read books, prayed for the giraffe's and went to bed. Graham was excited about Luke's ball pit and liked to sit in that. Graham was fussy on and off but enjoyed his dinner of sweet potatoes and went to bed after a nice bath! We hope you guys all had a wonderful Christmas as well and remember the true reason for the season!!

First (of many) Christmas's

Well the boys had their first taste of Christmas this past weekend. My Dad and Laurel were in town and we celebrated with them as they are headed to Nebraska to see her family on Christmas. So Christmas was Sunday morning. Luke got into Christmas pretty quickly and was even willing to share and let others have a turn. Some funny quotes
-upon opening his soccer ball and net and looking at the box-
"my soccer ball and 2 boys!" (thinking the picture of the boys came with the ball
-"my favorite toy"-said after he opened up his stocking and found a m and m candy cane thing with a m & M guy on the top
-my favorite toy "as he plays with graham's new busy town"
-"time to eat" he declares in the middle of present opening
we have a few more Christmas's to go-the real one and then heading to Kansas to visit with Joe's family there.
Merry Christmas to you all!

O Christmas Tree

We decorated the family Christmas tree this evening. We had put up the tree Saturday evening when the boys were in bed with every intention of decorating it on Sunday, but it didn't happen. So tonight after dinner and our advent calendar, where luke gets a piece of Chocolate, we put on Peter, Paul, and Mary Christmas Special from 1993 and started the fun. Luke was at first very into it and liked looking at all the ornaments (which he called toys) and then he put like 3-4 right on the bottom and then he took up residence on the step stool and pointed out where the ornaments should go. Mostly it was right in front on him where there are already 20 ornaments. But we got them all up and it is decorated.

Luke in Graham's clothes

Well this is the second time we

put some of Graham's clothes on Luke and we didn't know it. One day when the boys were wearing their matching sweaters I put Graham's on Luke and didn't realize it until I went to put Graham's on and it was huge. Then last night Joe was getting Luke ready for bed and put pants on him. After about an hour I realized those pants are more like kapri's and they are Graham's new pants that Mimi bought him for 9 months. Luke is 2 yrs and 9 months but still fits in some 9 months clothes, but please don't buy him that size!!!!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had Mimi here as well as Grandma and Grandpa Meier. Luke was a big helper in the kitchen with making the stuffing and making pilgrim hats with Grandma afterwards.

We are very thankful for our family near and far.

Joseph's Technicolor Coat of Many Colors

It has been a little chilly in our house. I had a few sleep sacs

but Graham was too long for them now that he is 7 months old. So I decided to make one. Joe would say the material was on clearance, but in reality I did pick it out. But I really wasn't thinking what it would look like, I was just going for something that would be neutral for either sex, knowing that we were pregnant at the time I bought it. So I made Graham a sleep sac. For the past three nights that he has slept in his sleep sac, he has slept from 630-730. So we are very happy with his coat of many colors. Since his middle name is Joseph it fits nicely. If anyone is interested, I can make them one!!!!!!!

H1N1

We received our swine flu vaccinations today. The boys were eligible because they were young and I could get one because of my asthma. Megan already got hers because she is pregnant, so we should be good. There were a lot of people there, but the PA Dept of Health did a great job of doing a mass vaccination.

BEETS

Graham has really started to enjoy his 3 meals a day of delicious food that I have prepared for him using the blender. The other day he got a good taste of beets and was having a good time with them and I thought I would share. He looks like this after most meals, but this is the only one that stains things and leaves nice red marks on his cheeks!!!!

Staining the fence

Well this weekend we decided to stain the fence. We had bought an automatic sprayer and were ready to go, but Saturday was very windy and it was a disaster. So Sunday we started again but this time the sprayer wouldn't work (yes the monster came and broke it overnight!) So we were back to using brushes!! So that is 630 feet of fence, but both sides, so that is 1260 feet of fence to be stained. YIPEE FUN TIMES!!!! Well Joe got out of the project because his doctor diagnosed him with pneumonia and everytime he came outside he would cough and wheeze. So he was inside with Graham. Luke joined me and our friend Daly in the painting. And Yes he did help paint and had stain everywhere, but that is ok he was good with the brush and in a few years it may be his job to do it all!!!!! So we got

one side done-which is 220 feet plus 48 additional feet. So we are only a small way into the fence and a lot to go, not sure it will happen before winter, but we will see!! If anyone wants to come and help we don't turn down volunteers!!

Halloween 2

Slippery Rock hosts an annual parade. This was the first we had heard about it. So we met up with some friends and walked to the town square where we watched the marching band go by (all in costume) and then paraded behind them to the fire hall where a candy bag was passed out and then trick o treating began. Luke, who had never been shown what trick or treating is, went to our friends house, right up to the door, and said trick o treat. Kind of funny. We made it to 3 houses before major meltdowns occurred. Graham fell asleep before the parade even began, so Joe was upset he didn't get Graham's candy.

Halloween

So Halloween is upon us. We decided to tackle a pumpkin one night when graham was asleep. Luke wouldn't stick his hand in the pumpkin to pull out any seeds but did enjoy using a spoon to try to get out some stuff. He then decorated it with stickers and a marker as Joe spent hours carving out Scooby doo! It looked out I know the picture doesn't do it justice. We then took the boys to our neighbors tonight for Harrisville's halloween-Luke was a kangaroo, but as we were putting on the costume he informed us he wanted to be a cowboy. Graham was content to be a giraffe, even though he was sick with a fever!

The Box

We got a upright freezer for our basement to put some extra stuff in, especially in case some one shoots bambi, and Luke decided we should make it his house. So Mom used her cardboard art skills and

we have a house with 2 doors, 2 windows and 2 skylights.

boo-boo's and stickers

Luke is convinced that stickers help his boo-boo's. Tonight when I was at work I guess he bumped his head. So I come home and find all of my guys with stickers on their forehead. Obviously everyone needed a sticker to help with all of the boo-boo's.

Driveway Done

We finally got our driveway paved this week. With winter coming, it was going to be a big mess with just gravel.

Bye Bye Pacey

For those of you who know Luke-you know he loves his pacey. He always has since he was an infant, even at 1 week old he was sucking the life out of his pacey. It was probably a year ago that we just started giving it to him at nap time and at bedtime. He would often say he wanted to go Pacey-night-night. We of course, went with this idea and also called it pacey-night-night. Just recently we were talking of how to get rid of the pacey. We had heard of different people taking the paceys to a toy store and turning it in for a toy or something. So we had started talking about Lukes "special present", that he would get if he gave up his pacey (or also if he started to go potty on the potty, we weren't picky about which one). So this weekend I found a stuffed Mickey. He has lately been caring around his "tiger"and "elephant" and has been sleeping with all the stuffed animals he owns (about 20) in his bed. So I thought a stuffed Mickey might be just the thing, as he is a huge Mickey fan. So we went today and bought Mickey and Luke loved it and told joe when he got home that he got a special present. So tonight when Joe put him to bed, he asked for his pacey, but Joe said no you have Mickey, and he seemed ok. So night one down-no pacey, we will see if that continues!!!!!

wildlife camera

Now that deer season is around the corner, I set up my wildlife cam in the woods behind our house. The biggest deer I saw has been an 8 pointer, but I saw this 10 pointer last night.

Graham and friends

Graham's animals Luke's animals

Graham likes to sleep a lot. Today he found a home in his bouncey seat and got surrounded by his world traveling friends, 7-pin and velcro. These guys travel to PNG to see Aunt E and then she sends them back. They recently returned from PNG with presents for luke and graham, a wooden dolphin and sea horse for their wooden animal collections. Luke decided he was going to have the dolphin and gave the sea horse to graham.
