Happy Birthday Jesus
Merry Christmas to you all. We hope you are all having a wonderful time celebrating the birth of our Savior. Luke had a good Christmas. He visited his grandparents Meier and then we traveled to great-grandma Kocjancic's house and got to visit with cousins and open a few more presents (well Mom and Dad did at least). Lastly we had Christmas at home-where the dogs enjoyed bones from Kansas, Klondike enjoyed the ball toys with feathers, and Luke enjoyed his gifts as well. His favorites must be his Lion that he can walk behind and his Leap Frog Animal thing. Not that he doesn't like the other gifts, but these are the ones that are currently holding his attention. Mom and Dad will be spending the next 2 months putting together their Christmas present a bowflex.

O Christmas Tree
just a snapshot of our Christmas tree. We had to put it in the little entry way because our ceiling in the living room is too low. Luke likes it and hasn't torn it down yet, which is a good thing.
We got our camera back from Canon, they fixed the flash free of charge so we are back in the blog business and you can check regularly now for updated pictures of Luke.

Snow Days

December is here
Hi everyone. We are enjoying our December. We had some snow and Luke got to experience sitting in the snow for the first time. We didn't build a snowman, but that is our next project when we get some more. We had about 6 inches last Friday. We put the tree up last night and Luke likes to look at the lights and ornaments. He hasn't brought it down yet, so that is a good thing.
Last night we caught Luke in joe's sock drawer pulling all his socks out, quite funny. Our camera should be back in commission next week and we will have more pictures.

Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. We had a good time visiting with my Dad and Laurel as well as my Aunts and Uncles at my Grandma's. Unfortunately our camera died and CPR didn't work to revive it so we have to send it away to the operating room to get fixed, but we still have pictures thanks to our family. We hope you had a good time as well. Luke now has 2 teeth and doesn't want to show them to anyone. He had a hard transition being in different places and never wanted to go to sleep. This continued this AM as nap time was very challenging. You can all pray he gets back on schedule.

FINALLY!!!
Hello everyone. Guess what???? I have my first tooth. It is located in the bottom right of my front teeth. Mom and Dad are happy about this because it explains why I have been fussy lately. ((I don't know what they are talking about). Sorry you can't see it in the picture. You can't see it because Mom took the picture with only a half smile. But even if she focused on the bottom gum, you probably wouldn't see it because it is just breaking the surface.

I'm 8 months old today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello everyone. Today is my 8 month birthday. If you baked a cake, but forgot to have it delivered, don't worry in less than a month I will be 9 months old and you can try then. Just kidding. Well I had a good day. I spent most of it chasing around the brown dog, they call her "Peanut NO" You see Mom gave each dog 1 stick, she calls them bones. But the brown dog, got both of them and was chewing them around the house. Well I wanted to see what she was doing, so I kept following her from room to room, but she kept running away with the 2 sticks in her mouth, she looked silly. I don't even think I would like the sticks, but she wouldn't share! Mom said it snowed a little today, but I don't know what that is. All I know is I had my cool new hat on that Mimi gave me. She came to visit over the weekend. Unfortunately Mom and Dad's camera decided to die and there are only some black and white photos but that is alright we will let you know what they are like.

hello
Just wanted to say hi. I have been busy these past few days playing in the leaves and getting brainwashed into thinking WVU is better than PSU. They may be better in the rankings, but we all know who is better! WE ARE.....PENN STATE.
Mom and Dad had a fun night tonight. They spent an hour digging Mom's dog out from under a shed that she decided to bury herself under. They tried lots of things-calling, tempting with treats, pouring water, using a stick, and finally the ultimate was digging a hole and Dad coaxed her out. The bad thing was, she could have gotten out on her own the whole time, but choose not to. If anyone wants to have a wiener dog that doesn't listen too well, please let me know. I am thinking of shipping her to Aunt Erin in PNG. Mom brought home these flat rate boxes-$37 for everything under 20 lbs and I know she only weighs 15. I will just need to put food and water in there as well, any ideas?

Hiking with Grandpa Nash
Well Grandpa Nash is in town for a little visit. We went to a new place to hike called McConnels Mills. If anyone lives around here and hasn't gone there yet, please do, it was wonderful. We had a good hike and got to take a family photo with the dogs as well. The cat of course didn't make the hike, so she is left out of the picture, but she did go and explore in the woods today!!!!!!
Joe and his dad are up in Buffalo, they went up for the Bills vs Cowboys Monday night football game. I hear it was a heart breaker and the Bills lost, but Joe said it was a great game.

LUKE
Luke is 6 months old now and is getting big. Still 25% for weight at 16 lbs, and 75% for height at 27 inches. He is now the world famous backwards scooter, as you lay him on the ground and he is 3 feet backwards in a few minutes. We are still working on going forward, but he gets that at different times. Today he was reaching for the PENN STATE football and going forward!! He is getting better at his food eating-we have sampled carrots, yams, squash, cauliflower, and sweet potatoes. In the freezer Mom has waiting-pumpkin, beets, green beans, squashed beans, zucchini and broccoli. We are slowly working our way through, one food a week. The fruits will come later.
We have added his name on the wall in his room, sorry the picture is sideways, please turn your head so the Left. We will add the giraffe coat rack soon, after it gets painted. He still loves to laugh at most things, especially Silly Daddy. He has started grabbing hair, glasses, noses, lips, etc. Lots of fun.
Pet Parade
Well today was the annual Pet Parade in Slippery Rock. Here are some of the best dressed pets in Slippery Rock today. We have SUPER PEANUT and BUFFALO SHADOW. Neither one of them won any prizes today, but they are top notch in our book. If anyone wants to enter their pet in the pet parade next year let us know we have room available to house the pets and owners prior to the wonderful event!!!

PA Stone Skipping Fun
Hello everyone. We visited the Annual Stone Skipping competition in Franklin, PA this weekend. For those who live in PA and have never been, it is a must, please mark your calendars for next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We watched 15 professional stone skippers duke it out for the title and prize of a can of PA crude motor oil, some homemade fudge, and a rare prize of one in 6 spot of attending the NATIONAL STONE SKIPPING competition in MICHIGAN on July 4th!! Yes that is right, there are only 6 slots opened for this national competition. It was a good time, Luke enjoyed it as you can see. He thought that by being SuperLuke he could throw the stones further, but didn't get a chance. The skipper in the picture above is none other than the Guiness Book of World Record Holder for stone skipping with 40. He is from Emporium, PA and his name is Kurt Steiner. He however was defeated this year, by last year's NATIONAL CHAMPION Russ Byars (not not a relation to Jenn Byers) who had 34 skips (very impressive). Please those who want to go, let us know. Joe is looking into renting a big tent and motor home for the event so we can tailgate before hand. Practices will be held the first weekend of every month at the Slippery Rock River for those who want to enter the Amateur competition next year. BYOS (yes bring your own stones) so start looking!!!!!

Walks in the Forest and Carnival Rides
The first 3 pictures are of flowers we saw on our last walk in the State Park. We have been enjoying them, but it has been raining, raining, and raining, the past 4 days so we haven't gotten back there. I know the dogs are getting excited to get out again and to get moving and sniff all the animals out in the wild.
We also went to the local Lawrence County Fair on Saturday. We don't recommend going any earlier than 1 pm, as the food booths aren't opened yet and the rides haven't started. Joe decided he would watch Luke and didn't want to ride any rides. erin and I went on the himalayas and the Scrambler, for those carnival junkies-these are fast, spinny rides. We had a good time as Erin remarked it would be her last rides for 2 years. So it was fun. The Funnel Cake was also a reason we went and was equally good.

Pirates Game
Funny, but you never know who you will run into at a Pirates game. We spent the weekend in Pittsburgh as I had to take my board exam. The dogs went to doggy daycare (or the kennel). We went to a Pittsburgh Pirates game on Friday night to celebrate my exam being over. We ran into a few familiar faces--my Uncle Hector, Aunt Marijo, and cousins Emily, Rachel, and Justin. So next time you go to a Pirates game, look around every corner to see who you might know!!!!
Luke had a great time. As his dad remembered, his first baseball game was the Pirates vs. the Reds, and Luke's first game was the Pirates vs. the Reds. Luke slept a lot, cried when the men behind us started to heckle the left fielder, and enjoyed looking around. He was very excited about his 1st bat given to him by his Great Uncle Hector!!!
Hiking
We have discovered the whole family loves to hike, including the animals, minus the gray furball. We have been visiting Moraine State Park on a triweekly basis and hiking around the trails. We know the ones in the area we have been hiking on quite well. We ended up taking a really long one the other day, that made Luke fall asleep, but otherwise he is a real trooper. Here are some shots...
