Luke's new chair

We went to a few garage sales today and found some new toys for Luke including the ever popular sit n spin!!!! We also found this cool Luke size rocking chair. It had some older, bluish fabric with flowers on it. So we went to Walmart and found new padding as well as cool doggie material.

In search of land.

Yesterday Megan, Luke, Shadow, Peanut, and myself went out looking for a place to build our home. We haven't picked out the home yet, but I guess the first stage in this process is to figure out where we want to build. We looked at this piece of land back in January and really liked it. It has both fields and woods, so Luke would have someplace to play when he gets a little older. Megan saw a deer and Shadow chased turkeys, so there are a lot of different animals already living here which is nice. Joe liked driving his truck around in the woods.

Gettysburg

We had a fun weekend at Gettysburg last weekend. We enjoyed learning about the battle and those brave men who fought in the Civil War. Luke had a great time playing in the grass and especially playing with sticks. Luke enjoyed the Parrot Canon's, that we are sitting on. We enjoyed our time with our friends from Texas and were sad to say goodbye.

at our hotel in gettysburg luke found his twin. He waves back, smiles, and moves like luke does. Luke enjoyed laying down and seeing he was still there.

Heading to Gettysburg.

Tomorrow we'll be heading to Gettysburg for the weekend. We'll be meeting up with the Leiberts from Harlingen who will be up here in PA with Calvary Christian School. This is the school I used to substitute teach at when I was studying for the bar exam.

I'll be glad to get away for a few days - it has been a long week at work.

Luke learns to use plasticware - with (as you can see) mixed results.

Luke helps with laundry

Luke has been very helpful with chores around the house since we came home. Today he moved my clean laundry pile to the kitchen floor one by one.
He also is into throwing stuff in the garbage that he picks up off the floor. For instance I gave him a piece of mandarin orange. He put it in his mouth and then spit it out and walked over to the garbage and put it in.
His other favorite chore is cleaning up the toilet paper from the roll, pulling it off and putting it in the toilet (even if the lid is down)

Bath Time

Luke had a tough today. He took a fall (on dad's watch) that left him with a big goose egg on his forhead. Nonethless, taking a bath makes everything all better.

Visit with Buster's Family

We got to meet all of Erin's missionary friends in PNG except for the McCoy's (also known as Buster's owners). They have been back in the US on furlough since April. Today we travel about an hour away to Stow, OH and met them at the Nazarene Church where they were speaking this AM. We got to see a slide show they had put together of their time in PNG, which even had picture of Erin in the bat caves. They are traveling the US trying to raise money for the ultrasound machine and visiting with family.

Back Home

We are back home and trying to adjust to life in PA. Our bodies are still off with the time changes, as we all seem to wake up at 3 in the morning and not want to go back to sleep. Luke is doing well, except waking up a lot at night. Joe is having the hardest time adjusting, but put in 12 hour days on Thursday and Friday.

Luke has enjoyed life outside since we came home. He likes to try to put the leashes on the dogs and pet the cat when she comes out. He is big into stone throwing as well. He tried a meal of dirt the other day, but realized it isn't as tasty as Peanut makes it out to be.
